Youtube adverts can be really annoying, especially when you are halfway through your favorite Daniel Bedingfield track and someone interrupts with information about some obscure tutorial on leveraging youtube to make millions (not saying these tutorials do not work though).
I was pleasantly surprised when an ad came on that I didnt need to skip. In fact, it spurred me to do a search on it to discover other versions.
The AD was “Specsavers sponsors Emmerdale” campaign that ran in August 2024.

These short ads were an homage to Emmerdale, and proved a point to me that advertising is not dead in an era of cheap visual thrills.
Worthy of mention are creative director at specsavers; Richard James and Art Director ; Mark Howard who helped in creating a masterpiece that would be a point of reference in advertising for generations to come.
