I don’t really write about political issues, but I had to do this. Last week Iran was under attack from Israel for violating a nuclear development treaty. Although the evidence of foul-play by Iran hasn’t been full made public by Israel, the former has gone full offensive on one of OPEC’s most productive nations (Iran is the 7th on the list of oil producing countries with the most amount of reserves) . The attack on Iran has sparked a worldwide debate on what constitutes a threat to a nations sovereignty or in this case, a crime against humanity.
It’s like every tyrant nation has a secret handbook that gives specific instructions on how to harass smaller nations into submission. You start by accusing the country of nuclear malpractices, then send missiles & torpedoes to mostly civilian occupied territories, killing thousands. You then eliminate all leaders and their successors. A “free and fair” election will then be conducted, where you handpick a leader for the territory that will give you unhindered access to its resources.
In the event that a handpicked form of government does not work, the nation will be thrown into chaos and civil unrest. Countries like Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan are clear examples.
Something doesn’t feel right about all this, mainly because we have seen this before. The following line is from Wikipedia concerning the war on iraq:
“The primary rationale for the invasion centered around false claims that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) and that Saddam Hussein was supporting al-Qaeda. The 9/11 Commission concluded in 2004 that there was no credible evidence linking Saddam to al-Qaeda, and no WMD stockpiles were found in Iraq. These false claims faced widespread criticism, in the US and abroad. Kofi Annan, then Secretary-General of the United Nations, declared the invasion illegal under international law, as it violated the UN Charter.”

Iraq is Number 6 on the worlds most populous oil producing countries. A spot before Iran. Could the allegations against Iran also be false? And there is a well thought out plan to divert all its resources by eliminating all opposition and installing a controllable cabinet? What would it have cost to send a delegation over to Iran for talks, then warn about offensives before carrying out a full scale bombardment of its key facilities and top government officials.
What is worrisome is that the key instigators of “peace” and “diffusion of nuclear threats” have recently had a history of violating the rights of its citizens. Some have even gone as far as using government institution in enforcing racial discrimination and propagating elitist ideologies.
History has taught us that a tyrant always constructs a narrative of victimization to legalize his/her actions, and like a leopard that never changes its spots, will always move on to the next victim while the rest of the world sticks its head in the sand.
My heartfelt condolences to everyone affected by the selfish actions of these men. As the saying goes; when Elephants fight, its the ground that suffers.
